OK, a little bit about us . . .
My name is Karen Brown, I've been married to my husband, Karl since 1990. We have two great kids, Jay and Christie.
We have always had dogs in our lives prior to marriage, Jack Russel Terriers, Golden Retrievers and Karl even had a pet orphan lamb! Of course, we both had a German Sheperds.
In 2003, we both realised that there was something missing in our lives, we were watching far too much TV and generally becoming couch potatoes. As the kids were growing up fast and didn't need quite as much attention, the time was right for a new addition to the family.
We were then introduced to Jean and Charles Packham,(Khansville GSDs), who informed us of a litter that they were expecting and invited us to come and see the puppies when they had arrived.
Eight weeks later we picked up our little fluff ball 'Bracken'.(Khansville Bracken).
Our lives were transformed.
After 12 months we decided to find him a friend, and we were sent to see a litter at Tregelberg GSDs near Nottingham, and at last in March 2005 we found her, (Tregelberg Tropicana), or 'Holly'.
'Things couldn't of been better!! Until i broke the news that i would one day, like to breed. The decision was mine, Karl was modernising the house, but we didn't realy want puppies in the house. Karl was also forward planning what to to with garden when i commented about building a purpose built kennel for breeding.
After about another 10 months the kennels were finished. The house was still unfinished, but also, we had fallen in love with another Tregelberg puppy, 'Cherrie'.
Unfortunately, Cherrie had to be put to sleep at six months old, which is probably one of the hardest things our family has gone through. just one of those things!
Anne and Brenda at Tregelberg were brilliant and said that we could have another puppy when we were ready. We did not no what to do, but life goes on. When we just popped in to see the Tregelberg crew one day we met a new puppy and again fell in love, called Apple, (Tregelberg Apfel), and bought her home.
All of our dogs have a fantastic pedigree from past and present champions. Our aim is to provide healthy puppies with a good temperments and to be a loyal companion.
We only have one litter a year as we believe that Holly and Apple are foremost our loveable pets; not for just for breeding purposes. This will give them a chance to recover to a tip-top healthy condition for them to enjoy their finer things in life.
